Shi Meilun has joined the board of directors of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation since 2004 as an independent non-executive director, concurrently serving as the vice chairman in 2007, and has been an independent non-executive director of HSBC Holdings since 2011. The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation holds a number of HSBC's businesses in the Asia Pacific region, including Hong Kong HSBC, HSBC China and Hang Seng Bank (0011). Former HSBC chairman John Flint also served as chairman of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, but the post has been vacant since he retired in May this year.
