Mortal accident this morning, shortly after 4, at the Vittorini waterfront in the historic center of Ortigia. Two young people, aged between 17 and 22, died and two others were injured following the clash of the car they were traveling on, a Ford Fiesta, against one of the pylons supporting the arches of the Belvedere San Giacomo.
Municipal police officers are carrying out surveys to understand the dynamics of what happened. The young people had spent the evening in Ortigia and were returning home, but for reasons to be ascertained the driver of the car would have lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Firefighters extracted one of the four from the plates. Immediate transfer to the hospital with 118, but for two of them there was nothing to do.
