Premier League team Manchester United announced that they reached a cooperation agreement with Alibaba (9988) to expand their development in the Chinese market.

There are about 700 million consumers in the Alibaba ecosystem. The agreement includes the display of Manchester United's first team games, highlights and localized original products on the Alibaba platform. The content of the Manchester United club will be broadcast on Youku, an online video platform owned by Alibaba. The two parties will also open the official Manchester United flagship store on Tmall platform to launch and sell authorized merchandise.

Manchester United stated that it has been looking for new ways to communicate with Chinese fans and looks forward to working with Alibaba to further develop the group's fan base in China.
