Mohammed Sa'id a-Shamrani, a Saudi student shot dead on Friday in three US naval bases in Florida, hosted a dinner earlier this week while watching three of his friends in videos documenting mass shootings - a US official told the Associated Press. According to the source, one of the three was documented outside the building at the base in Pensacola, while the other two were watching what was happening while sitting in the car. Ten Saudi students are still being held at the base, while others have been released.

Authorities in the United States have launched an investigation and are investigating suspected terrorism. Minister of Defense Mark Asper said today that it is not possible at this time to say whether it is terrorism, noting that "investigators can do their work." The President of the United States said he would review foreign policy training policy in the United States in light of the fact that the Saudi terrorist was an apprentice in the Saudi Air Force and underwent training at the base.

A-Shamrani, a lieutenant-in-law who was a trainee in the Saudi Air Force pilot training and attending training and study in the United States, opened fire inside a squad at Navy base and killed three people. The FBI is reviewing publications circulating on social networks and investigating whether the shooter acted alone, or was a member of the organization.

The attack jumped many security forces and led to a curfew at the base and ended when a policeman shot dead in a conservative. Eight other people were injured in the incident, including the shooter and another policeman he was with.

One of the victims is Joshua Caleb Watson, a 23-year-old who recently graduated from the Navy Academy. Watson was the first to call the initial reaction forces to the scene, even after being shot several times. "Joshua saved countless lives today in his own life," his brother Adam wrote on Facebook. "He died as a hero and we are much more proud, but there is a law in our hearts that can never be fulfilled."

Watson's father, Benjamin, said his son dreamed of becoming a pilot. He said he arrived at the base two weeks ago to begin his training in the flying course. "He died while serving his country," the father eulogized him.

Sen. Rick Scott said the shooting, the second in a U.S. naval base in a week, is a terrorist event "whether the shooter acted in extreme Islam or was mentally unstable." Earlier this week, a sailor docked at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, opened fire on three people. Two of them were killed before committing suicide.

US President Donald Trump tweeted on his condolences to the families of the dead, writing that he spoke by phone with Saudi Arabia's King Salman. Trump said the king told him "this person in no way represents the sense of the Saudi people." The Saudi government participated in the grief of the victims and their families and announced that it would give full support to the US authorities.

For years, the United States has been helping to train Saudis. However, the shooting turned a spotlight on the shaky relationship between the two countries. Saudi Arabia is still trying to recover from the murder of journalist Jamal Hashokji at the Istanbul Consulate. Saudi intelligence officials said they murdered and detained Hashokji's body on October 2, 2018 while his fiancee was waiting outside the scene.

The attack also mentioned the fact that 15 of the 19 terrorists in the September 11 attacks were Saudi, and some had undergone their Florida training.

The U.S. Naval Base at Pensacola extends along the city's canopy. Part of the base, which resembles a college campus, houses about 60,000 soldiers. Hundreds of students from other countries take part in training courses on the spot. Base Commander Captain Tim Kinsella said the shooting was done in one class and the shooter used a gun. The commander said the weapons were not allowed to be used at the base, which would remain closed until further notice.
