A total of four days remain until official elections are announced, but parties are already preparing for the door.

Those who mainly need to reckon with and rethink the way elections are fought are the representatives of religious Zionism, whose internal quarrels, splits and divisions have failed in the previous rounds.

Now his friends demand that Minister Bezalel Smutrich, the chairman of the National Union, abandon the idea of interconnection between the parties and quickly open open primaries to one large, orderly list.

Today, religious Zionism is divided into four different parties - the Jewish House led by Rabbi Rafi Peretz, the National Union led by Bezalel Smutrich, Bennett's new right and Shaked and also the Jewish power of Itamar Ben Gvir. Minister Smutrich argues that the split into four parties, and in particular the interconnection between them, creates tensions, internal quarrels, and especially dislike of the electorate that results in the failure of the elections.

One religious Zionism

The idea of editing open primaries has emerged in recent days between parties, and this week Smutrich intends to try to persuade his friends to promote the idea, which he says will prevent another election failure. "It makes sense, the most correct and the best to make primaries for one list. There are not many differences between us. In the end there is one religious Zionism. Endless dragging exchanges of accusations and mutilations, and that's the last thing that needs to be done, "Smutrich says in closed talks.

Remember, in the last elections, there was quite a bit of tension surrounding the issue of the identity of the chairman between Ayelet Shaked and Rabbi Rafi Peretz. An even more dirty battle was waged regarding the integration of Itamar Ben Gvir on the list.

According to Smutrich, open primaries need to be made into one large, unified list, so that everyone can cope and the public chooses its representatives.

The Jewish House, which should be part of such a move, says that in general they are in favor of the idea. "If there is no election, that is clearly what needs to be done. If there is an election - the schedule should be tight," say a senior in the Jewish home. Smutrich's people reject the tight schedule, saying that within three days all the apparatus and procedure can be organized, but in the Jewish home are afraid to lose their status and therefore refuse to edit primaries now.
