Signs of another union between two right-wing parties: Representatives from the Jewish Home Party and the National Union Party met yesterday to examine the feasibility of a merger between them into one party, which will contest the upcoming elections.
"The meeting was held between the negotiating teams of the Jewish House and the National Union, and it was decided to act on two parallel levels," he said. "Immediate, professional and legal examination of full party merger - both mechanically and in terms of determining the institutions of the joint party. Second, examining the most appropriate way to select a single list, diverse and appropriate for religious Zionism, including preparing a platform for holding primaries if necessary. "
However, a source involved in talks between the parties said last night to "Israel Today" that until such a move is completed - the road goes a long way.
At present, there are four parties affiliated with religious Zionism: the Jewish House, the National Union, Jewish Power and the new right of Naftali Bennett and Ayelet Shaked, which is not a sectoral party, but many members of the religious Zionism consider their representation in the Knesset.
On Sunday, it was announced that National Union Chairman Bezalel Smutrich is preparing for the primaries for one large list of all religious Zionist parties.
Smutrich explained in closed talks that "if we try to re-arrange one list of several parties, we will start endless arguments."
