Boris Johnson takes the phone away from reporters

A child, asleep on the floor of a hospital: symbol of poor health care in the UK. Premier Boris Johnson responded to a corresponding photo now thin-skinned.

In three days, the British are called to the early parliamentary election. The Brexit is the all-dominating election campaign theme - with all interconnections. One of these links is the future of the UK's National Health Service (NHS).

For Prime Minister Boris Johnson, an interview on the issue of PR has now developed. After all, Johnson took a reporter of the TV station ITV on Monday in dispute the phone from the hand. The reporter had tried to confront the prime minister with the photo of a sick boy. The dispute was about Johnson's plans for the NHS.

The journalist wanted to show the prime minister in front of the camera the admission of the four-year-old with an oxygen breathing mask sleeping in a hospital in Leeds on the floor of the waiting room. The boy, who was later diagnosed with tonsillitis and diarrhea, is said to have spent seven hours in the waiting room. He slept on a pad of winter jackets.

Johnson initially refused to look at the photo, took the phone from the journalist and put it in his pocket. Later, the conservative politician was ready to look at the picture and said, "A terrible, horrible picture." Afterwards he apologized to the journalist.

Is the NHS threatened with privatization after Brexit?

The future of health care is an important campaign issue prior to the poll on 12 December. Both Johnson's conservative Tories and the opposition Labor Party have announced plans to invest more money in health care.

However, in late November, Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn accused Johnson of "selling" the NHS healthcare system and presented a 450-page document proving that UK health care is under negotiation with the US over a trade agreement.

Political opponent Corbyn accused the prime minister of being careless. "A boy being treated on the ground is a disgrace to our society," Corbyn said.

Alleged punching turns out to be invented

Later, another turn came. Apparently Johnson had sent after the failed interview, a group of officials to Leeds, allegedly to demonstrate actionism. Later, the party claimed that a member of this group had been "beaten" in front of the hospital by left-wing activists. Recordings clearly show an accidental, harmless body contact. The Tories must now be accused of wanting to be distracted by obvious lies from the debate over the NHS.

According to polls, Johnson can count on a clear majority in Thursday's poll. Labor is therefore about ten percentage points behind the Tories back.
