The Environmental Protection Agency said today that a new technical memorandum stipulates that the total annual emissions of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and respirable suspended particulates in the power industry in 2024 and beyond will be 3,150 tons, 12,430 tons and 391 tons. Compared with the upper limit of total power industry emissions in 2022 set out in the previous technical memorandum, the new memorandum has tightened the emissions of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and respirable suspended particulates by 40%, 29% and 20% respectively, thereby Further improve air quality in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region.
