The head of the International Committee in the Russian Federal Council, Konstantin Kucachev, considered that the signing of the American defense budget, which includes imposing sanctions on building the Russian gas pipeline "North Stream 2", represents "a military operation against European companies as well."
"What is interesting is the inclusion of sanctions related to North Stream 2 gas pipelines in the US military budget, which means that there is talk about a military operation that includes European companies participating in the project," Kucachev said in a comment posted on Facebook today.
Earlier, the two military committees in the US House of Representatives and Senate approved the defense budget for 2020, which includes sanctions against companies contributing to Russian gas lines North Stream 2 and the Turkish current.
