Police arrest 12 people in Tianping Village, Sheung Shui

At about 2.30 am on December 9, several riot police officers intercepted 12 men and women on the platform of Tianping Village shopping mall in Sheung Shui and seized a batch of nailed hoses and three cans of white electric oil. They were arrested by assembly and possession of offensive weapons. Four of them were charged with "possessing tools suitable for illegal purposes" and will appear in Fanling Magistracy tomorrow. After investigation by the police, a 31-year-old arrested man was temporarily charged with one count of "possessing tools suitable for illegal purposes"; three arrested men aged 17 to 39 were temporarily charged with a total of "possessing a warrant for The crime of "illegal use of tools" will appear in Fanling Magistracy tomorrow (11th). The remaining six arrested men and two arrested women were released on bail pending investigation and must report to the police in late January 2020. Police told a press conference earlier that 12 suspicious individuals were arrested for possession of iron nails, electric drills, white electric oil, and self-made sharp barricades with the intention of piercing car tires. The arrested were aged 14 to 39, 6 of whom were students. One reported that the situation was worrying.
