Tehran-SANA, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Syed Abbas Mousavi regretted the European Union statement

Tehran-Sana

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Syed Abbas Mousavi expressed his regret over the recent European Union statement on Iran, stressing that his country rejects any kind of use of human rights as an instrument and its political exploitation against independent countries.

Mousavi said in a statement today that the statement issued by the new representative of the European Union for Foreign and Security Affairs is based on false and tendentious information, indicating that the protection of people's rights for the Islamic Republic of Iran as a system based on popular sovereignty is one of the pillars and necessities of national security in the country.

Mousavi said that his country's performance over the past four decades clearly indicates its keenness to raise the level of human rights and protect the rights of the people, adding that “popular protests and gatherings come within the rights of the people recognized in Iran, but the exploitation of this right for the purpose of violating the rights of the people and public centers cannot Silence on him, as is the case in Europe, as evidenced by the nature of the police dealing with the demonstrators in Paris, which has so far resulted in losses, injuries and the arrest of many of them.

Mousavi called on the European Union to focus seriously on the issue of denunciation of human rights in some of its member or allied countries, implement its obligations towards the nuclear agreement and follow up on the violation of the rights of more than 80 million Iranian citizens due to the unilateral, inhuman and unilateral embargo.
