As part of a serious corruption case in a security body, the Economic Department has notified suspects that they are considering prosecution subject to a hearing, in part for committing bribery offenses and receiving fraudulently. In addition, they will be prosecuted for theft by a public servant, fraud and breach of trust, disruption of legal proceedings, money laundering and tax offenses

The State Department's Office of Economic Affairs has informed several suspects that they are being prosecuted under a hearing for involvement in a serious corruption case in a security body - the publication said Tuesday. Among the items that were attributed to them include: committing bribes, receiving fraudulently, stealing from a public servant, fraud and breach of trust, disrupting court proceedings, money laundering and tax offenses.

It is suspected that civil servants in the security body took bribes from companies engaged in the sale of equipment to security agencies, and their owners, in exchange for promoting them in the security body, sell transactions between the security body and other security bodies, and the bribes. The amount of fraud against the security agencies is estimated at tens of millions of shekels.

The case was investigated by the National Crime Investigation Unit (ICA) in Blast 433 in the Israel Police, and a tax unit diamond unit.
