(CNN) - Democrats in the House of Representatives revealed charges of political trial against President Trump. There are two: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

What does it mean and what is next in the process? We explain to you:

The next votes

A vote in the Judicial Commission on whether to accuse Trump could happen this week. That means that a full House vote to dismiss Trump could take place next week.

Pelosi: The accusation “it's not about elections, it's about the Constitution”

When asked if he was worried about how the accusation could put most of the House of Democrats at risk, House of Representatives President Nancy Pelosi said it "has nothing to do with it."

“If we believe that our Constitution is being violated, that our democracy is at stake, that, as Franklin told us, it is a republic if you can keep it, and this same person is putting that in danger, why are we there? Just to continue having a job? We take an oath to protect and defend. If we didn't do that, we would be, again, criminals in our duties. ”

He added: “It's not about elections, it's about the constitution.

Why was the charge of obstruction of justice not included?

Pelosi was asked at an event on Tuesday about why they did not put justice obstruction in political trial charges.

This is how she replied:

“Our members are six commissions that have had legislation, investigation and litigation for a long time. Everyone concluded that this was all. I wish we were focusing on what we are presenting, because they are very serious violations of our constitution. Undermining the national security of the United States, endangering the integrity of our elections, and again, going directly to the heart of a system of checks and balances that honors the oath of office. So this is not talking about what is not, this is talking about what it is, and that is how we move forward. ”

The White House spokesman says that "it is quite clear that the president wants a trial"

White House press secretary Hogan Gidley told reporters this morning that he is not "aware" of any conversation between the Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell, and Trump about the plans for the hearings.

However, Gidley said, it is "quite clear that the president wants a trial."

This is what Gidley said:

“I know that our teams are in constant contact with members of the Senate. It is quite clear that the president wants a trial ... in fact, he has even talked about some of the witnesses we want to call, be it Adam Schiff, the whistleblower, Hunter Biden or Joe Biden. He wants to move forward and we'll see what form he will take in the near future, I'm sure. ”

When asked about the idea that the Senate trial would happen immediately, Gidley did not confirm it.

“The president wants him sooner rather than later. I think that is also quite obvious. But again, time will tell, ”he said.

Gidley was also asked if the president wants his advisors, including interim chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, to testify.

“The president always encourages or wants the administration to testify because the president has done nothing wrong. It has nothing to hide". But he added that "the rules have to be fair."

Gidley was also asked if there is any concern that Republicans can turn against the President in the Senate. He replied: "Not at this time."

I thought about the political trial: "What is happening in Washington, DC, today is a disgrace"

Vice President Pence made his first comments on the political trial since the charges were filed this morning, calling the political trial investigation a "misfortune."

He said the charges were created by the Democrats "because they know they cannot compete against this president in 2020."

“You will see today in the headlines that reappear. I mean, it's really amazing. And what is happening today in Washington, DC, is a disgrace. It's nothing less than a partisan political trial, but Pennsylvania men and women: We're still winning, ”Pence said in Pennsylvania on Tuesday while speaking at a veteran event.

He continued: “I really believe this, I think the Democrats are knocking this president down because they know they can't compete against this president in 2020. They can't campaign against our record. They can't campaign against the results. ”
