Today, the Danish police carried out raids and arrests in different regions of the country in anticipation of possible terrorist attacks.
"We have launched extensive, comprehensive and coordinated security operations across the country based on intelligence information about possible preparations for terrorist attacks," the Associated Press quoted police as saying in a statement.
The Danish authorities had announced earlier inspection measures on its borders with Sweden on the ports, on the trains, the Oresund Bridge, the roads and the railways linking the two countries.
European countries are witnessing a state of security alert for fear of the return of terrorism, which some of these countries have supported and overlooked its crimes in Syria to their lands, especially after the occurrence of terrorist attacks in several European cities, including Munich, Paris, Nice and Brussels.
