Last updated: 2019-12-12 02:59At 0:55 a.m., the firefighting received an automatic fire alarm from the Ngau Tau Kok Station on the Kwun Tong Line of the MTR. The fire alarm was immediately mobilized and a number of fire engines and four ambulances were dispatched to the scene to understand the situation. The fire was extinguished at the scene, and preliminary investigations believed that the cause of the fire was suspicious. Police then received a report at 0:58 that the lobby of the Ngau Tau Kok Station on the MTR Kwun Tong Line was set on fire.
Sources at the scene said that the location of the fire was Maxim's cake in the lobby, leaving an unexploded glass bottle and a fire extinguisher at the scene; it was reported that the train kept stopping at Ngau Tau Kok Station. The last departure of the Kwun Tong Line to Kwun Tong Station is at 1:18 am. It is reported that there were 6 persons involved in the case, some of whom had earlier held 4 petrol bombs, 2 of them headed outside the Meixin Bakery Gate, and 2 of them headed for the handrail ladder in the lobby and fled.
