At 0:55 a.m., the firefighting received an automatic fire alarm from the Ngau Tau Kok Station on the Kwun Tong Line of the MTR. The fire alarm was immediately mobilized and a number of fire engines and four ambulances were dispatched to the scene to understand the situation. The fire was extinguished at the scene, and preliminary investigations believed that the cause of the fire was suspicious. Police then received a report at 0:58 that the lobby of the Ngau Tau Kok Station on the MTR Kwun Tong Line was set on fire. As a result, trains have been stopping at Ngau Tau Kok Station. The last departure of the Kwun Tong Line to Kwun Tong Station is at 1:18 am.
