The legislative process for the dissolution of the 22nd Knesset will begin this morning (Wednesday) with the convening of the Regulatory Committee chaired by MK Avi Nissenkorn (blue and white). The committee, which has powers regarding the Knesset deliberations, is expected to first approve an exemption from two bill proposals. A proposal to dissolve the Knesset, which includes the upcoming election date: March 2, 2020, and Edgar 5755. The second, a proposal containing changes regarding the timetable for registering the new parties, the work of the Central Electoral Commission and funding of parties. This is an expedited procedure that allows the proposals to be promoted in the plenum despite being placed on the Knesset table a day earlier.
At 11:00, the Knesset plenary hearings will begin, and then the legislative process will begin. Both proposals will be accepted for pre-reading, first reading and second reading and third reading. Immediately after each reading is approved, the proposals will be returned to the Regulatory Committee for discussion in preparation for further reading. Knesset officials argue that the actual approval of the Knesset dispersion will be close to midnight tonight.
