Was first treated at Safari 4 months ago and released for free • This week she is back in serious condition
The injured lead
Four months ago, the Safari Wildlife Hospital and the Nature and Parks Authority came to a young lead, which was run in the Ma'aleh Adumim area. Despite her young age, she came alone without her mother, because she was already eating and not breastfeeding alone.
Her condition was not straightforward, and she was treated at the hospital for several weeks with tremendous investment and attention, receiving medication and dressing. After she recovered, it was decided to return to nature in the same area, and follow her to see that she was returning to her herd.
The excitement was great when it turned out that she did come back and fit in again, despite her mother's age and absence.
This week, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority Inspector Shachar Kfir arrived at the hospital, and in his crate, a deer crashed into a car accident. It was only minutes before the clinicians and veterinarians in the hospital recognized that it was the same lead that was treated four months ago.
Ramat Gan Safari said: "She immediately received supportive care that included administering fluids and painkillers. X-rays revealed she was severely injured and likely to have a spinal crisis. She is currently in the hospital intensive care room. Unable to eat on her own. Therapists feed her and give her fluids through infusion all the time. We hope you will recover and be able to return to nature. "
