After attack in Florida: Pentagon stops training Saudi Arabian military

Three people died in the attack of a Saudi Arabian soldier trained on a US military base: In response, the training program is now stopped and fully screened.

The US and Saudi Arabia work closely together in military terms. Every year, hundreds of Saudi Arabian military personnel are trained in the United States. This is now over for now.

Following a firearm attack by a Saudi Arabian soldier at a US military base in Florida, the Pentagon has suspended the training of Saudi Arabian military personnel in the US territory until further notice.

Over the next ten days, security reviews of foreign apprentices undergoing US Army training in the United States will be reviewed. That said the US Department of Defense on Tuesday (local time).

The Saudi Arabian lieutenant shot dead on Friday at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida, in a classroom building. Three US servicemen were killed and eight others injured. The attacker was killed in a shootout with the police.

Allegedly, the attacker made his intentions clear online

The 21-year-old shooter is said to have published a manifesto in the online service Twitter shortly before the attack, in which he denounced the US as a "nation of evil". The White House National Security Adviser, Robert O'Brien, spoke of a manifest terrorist attack. However, the investigations of the Federal Police FBI would have to wait.

As part of the revision of the security checks, which is now being ordered by US Deputy Defense Secretary David Norquist, the Pentagon claims that, among other things, all Saudi Arabian military forces currently trained by the US Army within the United States are to be re-screened. Those of you who are in pilot training will have to stay grounded for the time being, a ministry employee said.
