St. Michael Church for the Greek Orthodox in the city of Izraa in Daraa countryside this evening lit a Christmas tree in the church square and opened the cave of Christmas to celebrate the approaching Christmas of the Messenger of Love and Peace with the participation of community activities from the children of Izraa.
Sunday school children in the church presented a collection of songs and carols to celebrate this occasion.
Father Boutros Bitar, the pastor of the church, said that we are lighting the Christmas tree and the cave to celebrate the birth of Christ and we hope that it will be a message for all the world for more love and harmony among people, and that he will return to Syria with more reassurance, goodness and peace.
A number of the people of Izra emphasized that this occasion and celebrating it in an atmosphere of stability and safety is a clear message to all the world that we were Syrians and we will remain stronger than pain and Syria will return as it was and is better.
