Parliament Speaker Hamouda Sabbagh stressed the importance of revitalizing parliamentary relations between Syria and India and forming a parliamentary friendship committee and exchanging experiences and visits in a way that reflects on the two peoples in the two friendly countries.

Sabbagh, during his meeting today with the Indian ambassador in Damascus, Hafizur Rahman, noted India's supportive stance towards Syria in the face of the terrorist war on which it is waging, and the correctness of its vision of the events, pointing out that Syria gives priority in its relations to the countries that stood by it in the face of terrorism.

Sabbagh pointed out that Syria was subjected to a war and unprecedented aggression in which the forces of aggression converged from the so-called "international alliance" led by the United States and the Turkish and Israeli aggression, but it defeated terrorism from large areas thanks to the persistence of its people and the sacrifices of its army and the wisdom of its leadership and still confronts this ongoing aggression with its various forms of terrorism An economic and political blockade and a narrowing aimed at undermining the will of the Syrians and their independent decision.

In turn, Ambassador Hafiz Al-Rahman praised the ancient friendship between India and Syria, which represent two great civilizations, and they have always supported each other in difficult situations, combating terrorism and external aggression, indicating that India is aware of the difficult conditions that the Syrian people went through, shares its ordeal and denounces Turkish aggression on Syrian lands.

Hafizur Rahman emphasized his country's readiness to develop cooperation relations with Syria in various fields as it exists in the field of scholarships, training and qualification, revealing that an Indian team will come to Syria to work in the field of artificial limbs and sign an agreement with the Syrian government to establish a center of excellence in information technology and its certification will be from the Indian Institute .

The meeting was attended by observers of the People's Assembly, Atef Al-Zeebak, Sanaa Abu Zaid, and the head and members of the Syrian-Indian Parliamentary Friendship Committee.
