After a nine-year hiatus as a result of the terrorist war on Syria, the Euphrates Song Festival returned in its sixth edition, which hosted for two days its activities at the Workers' Union hall in Deir Al-Zour.

The director of culture in Deir Al-Zour Ahmed Al-Ali stated in a statement to SANA that the new Fraati song festival came back to life after its break since 2010 as part of an effort to push the wheel of the cultural and artistic movement after the province recovered, pointing out that the main goal of this festival is to attract young talents from singers, composers and writers.

The festival director, Tahseen Al Hussain, pointed out that the festival witnessed the presentation of 10 songs performed by 9 singers, in addition to a group song presented by the music group "Al Furat" to revive the heritage and this work as a result of an effort that took nearly a year of preparation and training, especially that most of the participants are singers and musicians who are young Who are participating for the first time.

And the leader of the musical group, "Al-Furat" Jamal Al-Duwair said that the new songs came from her poets and composers from the province’s poets and composers, bearing the smell of the Euphrates and the nostalgia of his sons, and expressed their adherence to the distinctive lyrical color of the firat, stressing that these young men depend very much on them to carry the banner of preserving the authentic Euphrates rite and providing it with everything new.

The composer Ahmed Suwaid pointed out that the Euphrates song is characterized by poetic aesthetic, melodic sweetness and diversity in performance, and this is what we have worked to accomplish through new songs presented at the festival with young new sounds, melodies and words inspired by the reality sticking to originality.

The poet Mazen Alloush who wrote the lyrics of five songs at the festival explained that he sought to dedicate the distinctive character of the Euphrates song, which is characterized by the transparency of the idea and the true expression of the state of love, joy and nostalgia, and finally the state of victory and adherence to the land and the homeland.

A number of attendees expressed their happiness at the revival of the Euphrates Song Festival, which is a new step in returning life to the creative scene in Deir Ezzor after recovering from terrorism and returning to normal life thanks to the sacrifices and heroism of the Syrian Arab Army.
