Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has warned that attempts to repeat the scenario of the nefarious "color revolutions" in Latin American countries will definitely lead to an escalation of tensions in the region.
Novosti quoted Lavrov as saying after his talks with Nicaragua's Foreign Minister, Denis Moncada, who is on an official visit to Russia: “With regard to the current situation in Latin America and the Caribbean, we monitor and observe complex and sometimes multi-directional and politically contradictory developments ... We agree in the fact that the attempts The events taking place in this region with the aim of repeating the nefarious "color revolutions" scenario could seriously exacerbate regional tensions. Of course, this does not serve the interest of strengthening the position of Latin America as the center of the emerging multipolar world.
Lavrov expressed Moscow's confidence that the Nicaraguan people are entitled to self-determination and opposes any attempts to impose anything on Nicaragua.
The United States, with successive administrations, has been trying to intervene in Latin American countries with the aim of controlling their capabilities and wealth and imposing their hegemony there by implementing coercive economic measures against them and provoking coups against legitimate governments as happened in Bolivia recently, and at times it has even managed to assassinate leaders and presidents.
