Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed today with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuzlu, developments in the situation in Syria.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement quoted by the Russia Today website that the two sides discussed in a telephone call the process of the political settlement of the crisis in Syria in addition to the general conditions in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed in a telephone conversation yesterday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan the need to fully implement the Russian-Turkish understandings on combating terrorism in Idlib and northeastern Syria.
It is noteworthy that the Turkish regime has for years transformed Turkey's territories into a headquarters and transit point for terrorist organizations and provided various types of support to them, including "ISIS" and the "Al-Nusra Front" listed on the international terrorism list, as well as the purchase of stolen Syrian oil from ISIS.
