The Air Force of Chile announced that the search operation did not result in survivors of the cargo plane accident that crashed during its flight to Antarctica with 38 people on board.
Reuters quoted the Chilean Air Force as saying it had collected human remains during the search operation without finding survivors.
Chilean President Sebastian Pinera, the Minister of the Interior and the Minister of Defense had gone to the leadership of the Air Force, located in Santiago, to observe the search for the plane.
The Air Force reported earlier on Twitter that two commercial ships and two warships, in addition to 13 aircraft, including an Argentine Air Force plane and one plane from Uruguay participated in the search operations in addition to the participation of three satellites, including two belonging to the United States.
On Tuesday morning, the Air Force of Chile announced the disappearance of its military plane while carrying out logistical support missions to maintain Chilean Antarctic base facilities.
