(CNN) - There are many ways to decorate a Christmas tree, from monotonous minimalism to the old-school cheesy style.
But for a woman in Australia, the seasonal motif was great snakes, when she suddenly found a 3.4 meter python that adorned her tree.

Leanne Chapman and her partner returned home in Brisbane, Queensland, on Thursday, and noticed a fuss on their balcony.
"We returned home from work and noticed that a couple of shrines that visit us every day were going crazy trying to go out the balcony," Chapman told 7News, a CNN affiliate.
Chapman, who is originally from England, told 7News that his partner began filming the birds and leaned on the tree, not realizing what he had wrapped around him.
"When he turned around and stepped back, he didn't know he was leaning on the Christmas tree with the snake wrapped around it," he told 7News.

The couple left the snake alone, and later that night slipped away.
“It didn't bother us. It just stayed there for a good few hours while we watched it through the window, ”Chapman said.
It was only when the reptile moved from its position that the couple realized how big it was.
"It was big, really big," Chapman said. "After the initial shock , I can say it was a really beautiful snake."
"It was really nice to see her up close, because I had never seen anything like that before," he added.
