The Christmas celebration of the Good Shepherd Coral on the Dar al-Assad Theater of Culture in Lattakia yesterday carried the title “From Hun to the Universe” to chant the voices of more than one hundred and eighty children, young men and young women in love, peace and birth songs in various languages of the world.

The celebration started with music and the song “Eid's Night” to be followed by Christmas songs and hymns “Jayne the Children” and “Today Atana Parina” and “The Tree End” and “The Night is Continuing to Cause” and “Mohy Halilel” and “Your Name Sung” and “Jenna rejoices” and "Maryam at Christmas", "Be Renounced upon You" and "Jayen Pope Noelat" in addition to Gregorian songs of Greek, French and Italian heritage.

Choir coach Elias Samaan explained in a statement to SANA that the choice of this title for the celebration came to express the state of victory and joy that we deserve to live after years of war and darkness over our country and to tell the world our message .. “Birth with its geographical location and its human, spiritual, belonging and national dimension came from Syria and from it He went out to the world ... and we were and will remain a country of peace, love and civilization. "

Samaan pointed out that the choir included one hundred children from the children's choir and 81 from the adult choir, in addition to the music band in cooperation with Mahmoud Al-Ajan Institute of Music. They performed songs and hymns while presenting some of the world heritage in our oriental style.

Maria Mahfoud, the violinist in the choir, saw that the choir’s celebration came to deliver the message of birth a message of peace and love, and to say that we are able, through our collective performance, to present a distinguished work that sows joy in the hearts of those present.

For his part, the Archbishop of Lattakia diocese and its dependencies saw the Greek Orthodox “Athanasius Fahd” .. Christmas is a feast rooted in our country, our heritage, and our faith, and represents a message of love and light, which is a Syrian message that we are keen to deliver always and today we connect it with music.

It is noteworthy that the Good Shepherd Coral of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese was established in Latakia in 1996 and includes about 300 members who fall into four categories .. "Flowers, children, youth and adults" and to include them in the future "Coral of Mothers", which will be launched at the upcoming Mother's Day party.
