Baghdad - Sana
Iraqi lawmakers called on the country's president, Barham Salih, to nominate a new, independent prime minister from outside the political blocs involved in the current Iraqi political process.
The MP from the "Bayraq al-Khair" bloc, Muhammad al-Khalidi, told SANA correspondent in Baghdad that President Saleh had formally received a signed request from one hundred and fifty deputies to nominate an independent figure for prime minister, explaining that 180 deputies from several political blocs support the nomination of a prime minister acceptable to the demonstrators.
In turn, Ghayb al-Amiri, a deputy from the "Saeron" alliance, called on President Saleh to present a candidate for the presidency of the Council of Ministers from the demonstration arenas, warning the political blocs at the same time against the nomination of a political figure who is not accepted by the demonstrators.
And witness some Iraqi cities and governorates since the beginning of last October, protest demonstrations calling for improving public services, providing water and electricity, eliminating unemployment and fighting corruption.
