Popular demonstrations in the Iraqi capital to condemn the American intervention

The Iraqi capital, Baghdad, witnessed today mass popular demonstrations, denouncing the American interference in Iraqi affairs and in support of the popular movement demanding reform.

According to the Iraqi Media News Agency, thousands of different areas in the capital, Baghdad, flocked to Al-Firdous Square and the surrounding areas, carrying Iraqi flags and pictures of the figures that the United States has included on the sanctions list.

The demonstrators also raised banners and slogans condemning the American interference in the internal affairs of Iraq and its attempt to ride the wave of popular demonstrations taking place in the country.

In the context of its policies based on interference in the affairs of other countries, the United States recently imposed sanctions on a number of Iraqi personalities under various pretexts and arguments.
