The head of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army, Pak Jong Chun, confirmed that his country's defensive experiences are aimed at curbing and overcoming the nuclear threat of the United States.

"The Academy of Defense Sciences has recently recorded great successes in strengthening defense capabilities and has succeeded in taking tests of great importance one after another as the data, experiences and new technologies acquired will be applied to the development of another strategic weapon for the Republic of Korea," Chun was quoted as saying in a statement today. Popular democracy is to curb the nuclear threat of the United States and certainly reduce it and overcome it.

Pyongyang always stresses that all of its experiences come within the framework of strengthening its capabilities for self-defense in the face of open hostile American threats.

The statement added that "true peace and the protection of our development and our future can only be guaranteed when the balance of forces is completely guaranteed and we have stored tremendous power because we must be prepared to deal with the political and military provocations of the hostile forces and to constitute dialogue and confrontation ... and our army is fully prepared to implement any decision taken by the president Kim Jong Un. ”

A spokesman for the Academy of Defense Sciences in the DPRK announced earlier today that his country had conducted a successful new experiment at the "Sohai" satellite launch site.

The DPRK yesterday described the policies adopted by the United States regarding it as similar to the actions of "bandits", explaining that Washington's criticism of its missile tests at the UN Security Council is "a provocative act."
