(CNN) - The US Supreme Court said on Friday it will consider whether the House of Representatives and a New York prosecutor can issue citations to the accounting firm and banks of President Donald Trump to view financial records, two monumental disputes related to the separation of powers and Trump's broad demands for immunity that will be decided at the heart of the presidential campaign.

In a brief order, the judges granted requests from Trump's personal lawyers to hear the cases, ensuring that the subpoenas are not followed while the political trial procedures are being carried out.

The cases will be known in March, and failures are expected for June.

The Supreme Court's decision to hear the cases means that after years of Trump protecting his documents, the nine judges will make the final decision on whether the records should be published.

The president's enemies have searched his financial records by citing a variety of investigations into secret money payments, foreign participation in an American election, violations of emolument clauses and investigations into possible violations of ethics standards.

The way in which the court rules in the cases before them could have far-reaching implications, which extend well beyond the procedures of political trial and the Trump era. In three cases that have reached the Supreme Court, Trump has lost in lower courts where judges have pointed out that other recent presidents have voluntarily disclosed their tax records.

Four judges are needed to accept a case, which in the court of nine judges does not mean that it will finally rule in favor of the president. The court finally unanimously ruled against President Bill Clinton in a case arising from a civil lawsuit, as well as in a case involving President Richard Nixon and the Watergate tapes.

"We are pleased that the Supreme Court has granted a review of the president's three pending cases," Trump's lawyer Jay Sekulow said in a statement. “These cases pose important constitutional problems. We hope to present our written and oral arguments. ”

Friday's actions add three monumental cases to a period of the Supreme Court that was already a blockbuster in the presidential election. This summer, decisions are also expected in cases related to access to abortion, immigration, the 2nd Amendment and LGBT rights.
