Two men in their 20s were arrested this morning (Saturday) on suspicion of shooting at the home of Sakhnin Mayor Spawat Abu Ria. The two were brought to the police station for questioning and in the evening will be taken to the hearing to extend their detention in Haifa Magistrates' Court.
During the night, gunfire was fired at the head of the town of Sakhnin. There were no casualties in the incident, but damage was done to the home and Abu Ria's vehicle was set on fire. As a result, an investigation was opened when the background was unclear.
Police were called to the scene, set up checkpoints and began scanning for suspects, while investigators were gathering findings from the scene.
