A medical team, with the participation of doctors from Lebanon and Iraq, conducted more than 35 theoretical and investigative work with modern techniques and interventions in the General Authority of Damascus Hospital on the sidelines of the annual scientific conference of the Syrian Society for Digestive Diseases.

In a statement to SANA Health, the head of the digestive diseases department at the hospital, Dr. Khaled Sheiha, explained that the selection of the sick cases was among the difficult cases that the hospital reviewed and had various laparoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy, stomach and biliary methods, with the aim of training the resident doctors, exchanging experiences, and seeing developments in diagnosing and treating diseases Gastrointestinal endoscopy.

Sheiha pointed out that the hospital performs about 20 gastroscopy operations and 8 colonoscopy operations daily, while 20 biliary operations are performed weekly.

And the medical director of the hospital, a digestive pathologist, Dr. Ahmed Abbas said that the endoscopic operations were carried out in 3 operating rooms and transferred directly to a lecture hall that gathered 25 resident doctors, pointing out that some modern technologies are available in Damascus hospital, including bile imaging, and the eco technology will be provided through the endoscopy soon.
