On the occasion of the approaching Christmas, the Christmas tree was lit in the town of Qutainah in Homs countryside, amid a popular celebration, as well as the opening of a Gregorian exhibition in the church of the Prophet John the Baptist in the town.

The AD exhibition in Qatina, which lasts for 4 days, included handicrafts, embroideries, colored candles, birth decorations, jams and pickles with the participation of the women of the town and proceeds to support people with disabilities, while the Church Scout group presented musical pieces during the tree lighting event.

Georges Abu Zakhkem called Bishop of Homs and its dependencies to the Greek Orthodox, that love and peace prevail throughout Syria to remain a symbol of steadfastness, pride and victory for the people, army and leadership, citing the sacrifices of martyrs for the sake of the homeland.

Hassan, for example, from the event's organizers, pointed out that the tree lighting aims to spread joy and love in the town, which is 11 meters long and has a base of four meters wide, and was accomplished with the participation of community activities in the town.

A number of the people of Qutainah pointed out to Sana's correspondent that they were happy with the approaching Christmas, expressing their hope that Syria would recover from its wounds, and that peace and peace would prevail with the return of many displaced families to the homeland.
