Minister of Water Resources Eng. Hussein Arnous explained that the 2019 emergency plan focused on lifting pollution from the Barada River and some projects, indicating that in drinking water projects, 82 wells were drilled, 211 wells equipped, implemented, and maintained 29 water tanks, securing 38 electric generation sets, maintenance and supply of 183 pumps, replacing and renewing Pipes for drinking water networks of 157000 m length in various parts of Syria with the implementation of two electrical connection lines for water networks along with a set of service contracts and sterilization materials, pointing out that providing electric groups for the spring of Al-Fijah and completing the maintenance of the direct campus of the spring and the completion of the rehabilitation of the Barada line supporting Al Qudsaya in Damash countryside S.

Minister Arnous indicated that work is currently underway to implement sanitation projects from treatment plants, lines and estuaries to remove pollution from drinking water, irrigation, dams and rivers in Lattakia, Tartous, Hama and Damascus countryside, noting that the ministry is working through the General Authority for Water Resources in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Agricultural Reform on Rehabilitation of irrigation networks, implementation of rain harvest projects, and construction of dams in appropriate locations.

In response to the members ’questions, Minister Arnous stressed that the water projects that were approved in the countryside of Deir Al-Zour will be implemented before the coming of the summer, indicating that two major projects have been approved to irrigate the southern countryside of Aleppo, and the matter is also in the eastern countryside of Sweida, and they are among the priorities of the ministry indicating that water security is safe and we must preserve It is based on long-term strategic projects.

Minister Arnous pointed out that work was recently done to build water dams in the Al-Ghab area of ​​Hama countryside, as for the reservoirs, it is a large project that costs up to seven billion pounds. Direct implementation of them next year.

To that, the People's Assembly approved the draft law that includes ratification of the agreement to establish a commercial house signed in Damascus on 8-31-2019 between the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade in Syria and the Ministry of Economic Development in the Republic of South Ossetia and has become law.

The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, indicated that the agreement includes one commitment: establishing a Syrian commercial house in Ossetia and the Ossetian commercial house in Syria as a platform to promote and market Syrian products in the Republic of Ossetia, as it constitutes an opportunity to introduce the product and commercial laws in Syria as well as it serves as A permanent exhibition through which direct sales, contracts and deals can be made.
