Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed that dialogue and respect for the other’s sovereignty are the way to ensure security and stability in the region.
Zarif said during a speech in Doha today, “Some still imagine that one party can benefit at the expense of others and can achieve security for itself by depriving its neighbors of security and that this approach has not and will never succeed and that security is like regional changes that know no borders and do not accept partition. ”
Zarif added, "Some international players consider the region a fertile base for expanding their military presence and marketing more weapons to almost all parties, but this foreign presence has not led to the enhancement of the security of foreign players or the region's security."
Zarif pointed out that the Hormuz Peace Initiative recently launched by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani seeks to formally recognize the responsibility of all players in the region in order to guarantee peace, stability and prosperity.
