On the 13th of the siege of PolyU, the demonstrators broke through, roped and climbed the canal to escape, and the stayers were later lost in the dark corner of the campus. One month after the incident, demonstrators who had been trapped for two weeks and finally escaped were interviewed. They recalled the experience of hiding and avoiding PolyU staff searches, and also talked about the long-term depression of left-behind people.
Unblocking: escape the telegram the next day and report peace
On the afternoon of November 30, the day after PolyU ’s unsealing, the reporter ’s telegram received a text message: “Peace is back.” The sender is the left-behind man in a green coat, who opened his own account on the eve of PolyU ’s unsealing— A Xiang. He entered PolyU on November 16 and was mainly responsible for food and cleaning. When he was surrounded by police, he became a "prisoner" for more than ten days. Trapped for two weeks, he missed district board voting, held his first press conference in life, and practiced hiding and escape skills.
A Xiang is one of the few demonstrators left behind. After regaining his freedom, in addition to reporting to reporters via telegram, he also talked about hiding methods and the mood of the left behind. He described the late stayers who often hid in hiding places and only moved in familiar areas. "No one sneaks out at night first, and the toilets all go secretly." He spends most of his time in fear.

Choice: choose to stay behind and focus on "iron sinus"
Looking back at the siege on the 13th, in fact, as early as the second or third day, the left-behind people had disagreements about staying, and gradually evolved into two parallel space-times. Those who intend to escape will send out daily whistle, pay attention to the distribution of police forces, and study the escape route; they are determined to stay focused on finding hiding places, searching for treasures in the debris pile, and preserving supplies. Although most people are hesitant to go or stay, once they make a decision, their mental states are significantly different.

The reporter interviewed on the campus of PolyU for many days. From time to time, he encountered Ah Xiang and found that he always walked on campus because he had already decided to stay behind. He didn't need to think about the plan of fleeing and concentrated on collecting materials to prepare for a protracted war. "Food is needed because there are fewer choices, especially when the (late) kitchen is open." A Xiang laughed, but the more important task was to find the "iron sinus". The rooms with locks and cabinets and beds were the most "strategic". He explained, "Even if someone enters me, I will be caught at first glance." The reporter observed that the left-behind saw stitches, as long as it was concealed, fake ceilings, machine rooms, ventilation slots, and air-conditioning slots could be hiding places. These areas often leave debris, beds and food debris.

Dodge: Avoid searching under the bed
More than one iron sinus. The social workers, teachers, and PolyU staff in the middle and late period of the siege all sent out the laundering. The left-behind people must avoid their persuasion and often need to change their hiding place. The most thrilling moment was when Ah Xiang was hiding in a locked room, but the PolyU staff member opened the door with a key to check. He flashed into the bottom of the bed immediately, "covered with obstructions." Fortunately, the staff did not search carefully, and they had to switch afterwards To the second hiding place.
Tactics: Waiting for the opening of the Red Tunnel to find "opportunities"
The game of catching thieves is staged almost daily, and the stay-behind insist on staying on the ground based on a judgment-there is a way to go after the Red Tunnel is opened. A Xiang pointed out that the Red Tunnel is a transport hub in Hong Kong, and the police cannot seal it for long. The outcome of this battle depends on who is more patient. Taking it a step further, Ah Xiang always thought that staying behind was better than surrendering himself: "I am all wrong with cleaning? Cleaning is called a riot?" He felt that the person who left the campus should be the police.

But when will the Red Tunnel be opened to traffic? The left-behind have no clue, and have been under high pressure for a long time. A Xiang admitted that he had fallen into a low tide. He originally formed a team with a friend, but his friend was under 18 years old. In order to avoid family concerns, he finally left PolyU through the assistance of the principal. The group of two was dissolved, and A Xiang spent most of his day dying for this. "Because he was willing to let go and no teammates, he had to tell himself to stay away."

Doubt: "Ambulance" appeared at night to persuade people to disturb
During his stay in the University, PolyU from time to time reported Athlon attacks, Z Core washing the building, and even rumors of triad outbreaks. A Xiang recalled that there was a team of three men and one girl who claimed to be the First Aid squad. They often haunted at night and kept shouting, "Brothers and brothers, let's go out together!" Once, he was persuaded and talked by the other party. Persuaded him to leave, claiming that it could be deleted even after registering the information. A Xiang refused, but exposed the hiding place because of this. His door lock was pryed afterwards, and A Xiang could not confirm the identity of the other party.

In order to relieve pressure, Ah Xiang chose to watch animation. Once at a corner of the restaurant, a reporter found that A Xiang wearing a red coat was calm and comfortable, sitting quietly on a chair, using the computer in the restaurant to log in, and watching the animation "Careful Brave" on YouTube. Ah Xiang made a laugh or two. By this time he had recovered from the loss of his friend leaving the team. Two foreign media reporters next took photos from close range, he did not obstruct, and just put on a peaking cap. A Xiang said that he hopes to let the outsiders know that the leftovers are okay through the lens, so don't worry.

Transit: Police enter school to collect evidence
A day or two before PolyU ’s unsealing, the police began to search for evidence at PolyU. A Xiang recalled: "Jingqu will take advantage of the opportunity to wash the building. The most buried one or two days", but it also means that PolyU may soon Unblocked, "I already knew I could go." As a result, after the police seized the petrol bombs and weapons, no one was laundered or arrested. Ah Xiang originally planned to leave on the night of the 29th day of unblocking, but heard that PolyU had arranged a security guard to stay there, fearing to be trapped again, so he quietly left at noon. On the first day of the fugitive day, he asked his friends to have a meal.

He is "forcing" himself to take a holiday and relax his tired body and mind. Recently, he has only been meeting with friends, and he has opened hands and feet with each other. Hefei non-activities try not to participate, just forward Twitter to do promotional tasks and help the yellow shop. He did not think that the Games would end after the Battle of PolyU, because he believed that the anti-revision storm that had erupted since June has evolved into a "long-term war of resistance."
