Arrest of a person selling stolen and counterfeit cars to citizens in Tartous

Elements of the Criminal Security Branch in Tartous arrested a person selling stolen and counterfeit cars to citizens by creating a page on the social media network and soliciting customers and then closing them after completing the sale.

The head of the Criminal Security Branch in Tartous, Colonel Taher Nabaa, told SANA that based on the information received about a person selling stolen cars via a page on Facebook and canceling them and his phone number after completing the sale, the person called (ARM) was requested. After he was ambushed by members of the branch, on the pretext of buying a car based on information and investigating him.

Colonel Nabaa pointed out that after investigating the arrested person, it was found that he wanted 13 radio broadcasts searching for his real name and the fake name for fraud, fraud and car theft in more than one governorate, indicating that the arrested person was using a forged ID card to carry out fraud and forgery operations.

According to Colonel Naba'a, the arrested person was currently helping two hidden persons from sight by bringing stolen cars, placing false plates on them, falsifying the license plate, traffic licenses, insurance contract, and agency for each of the cars sold, using information about regular cars bearing the specifications of the cars sold themselves

He sold it to one of the citizens, adding that about $ 2,000 and 700,000 Syrian pounds were recovered in the possession of the invited person, in addition to a military ID in the name of a forged officer in the Syrian Arab Army and a false security card that he used to facilitate passage through the checkpoints.

Nabaa affirmed that after the first report in the governorate about this incident, the aforementioned was arrested within a short period of time, and he will be presented to the judiciary to obtain his fair punishment.
