After the Supreme Court allowed their arrest, an indictment was filed Monday against the five suspects in the murder of State Basel Assi in Barra village last September. Tariq Daoud, Bilal Nazal, Khodifa Daoud and Sammy Arar, 23-32, are charged with murder in aggravated circumstances and conspiracy to commit a crime. Tarek, Bilal and Sami are also charged with carrying weapons and ammunition and disrupting court proceedings. Abdullah Rashek, a 37-year-old resident of East Jerusalem, is charged with assisting with murder and conspiracy to commit a crime. The indictment indicates that the Daoud brothers are Aasi's nephews and the defendants have an early acquaintance.

The indictment shows that on September 13, around 4 p.m., Sammy arrived while driving an Isuzu-type vehicle to the Elijah Gate crossing. At the same time, Tark, Bilal and Abdullah also reached the Skoda vehicle and four moved to the Palestinian Territory. When they arrived in Qalqilya, Khodifa joined them. The three planned to bring Aasi to his death in his home town, but later decided that they would kill him while Khodipa drove him to the village of Bara.

Around 8:00 pm, Tarek, Bilal and Sami from Jaljulia drove towards Kfar Bara, equipped with a loaded gun, and concealed the first two digits of the Isuzu vehicle's license plate. As they approached the village of Bara, they turned to Ash Road and camped for Asi.

At 20:26, Khodipa drove Asi to the village of Bara, with the latter sitting in the back seat. When they reached the point of the ambush, the three began to drive after them in the Isuzu vehicle. On Saleh a-Din Street, the vehicle in which he traveled to the state overtook and closed it. At this point, Tareq opened the rear window of the Isuzu vehicle, pulled out the gun and fired several shots at the rear of the vehicle where Asi was sitting. Khodifa ran from the vehicle toward the nearby field, while Stark exited the vehicle and continued firing several shots at Asi while sitting in the vehicle.

As a result of the shootings, three state gunshot wounds were sustained in the head, two gunshot wounds to the left, and a gunshot wound to the back, resulting in his death. After the shooting, Tarek returned to the vehicle and the three fled the scene.

When they reached Highway 4, north of the authorized interchange, they stopped at the side of the road. Tariq dropped the gun in a nearby field, while Sammy and Bilal lowered the tape over the Isuzu vehicle's license plates. Abdullah waited for three in the Skoda vehicle to drive them away. Tariq and Bilal moved to the Skoda car and drove together with Abdullah to Sami's uncle's mother in Tel Aviv.

Sami continued his journey by arriving at a "mint" gas station in the Green Village, and later traveled to a friend in Hod Hasharon where he left the vehicle. The next day he took the car and drove to Qalqilya where he repaired it with the aim of removing the signs of injury caused during the murder.

In the past decade, Asi was a state witness who sent 15 members of the Hariri Ayat family for extended periods of imprisonment. After the trial ended, Assi stayed abroad, but in recent years returned to Israel. Since then, he has requested police assistance several times - but was rejected. In September he was murdered in two chest shots.
