(CNN Spanish) - The luxurious St. Regis hotel in Mexico City hosted one of the most prominent philanthropic events of 2019: the fifth edition of the Global Gift Gala and the Eva Longoria Foundation, which the actress and producer presides , and that this year will support Fundación Duerme Tranquilo, which has the task of raising funds and directly supporting Mexican health institutes.

We talked with the director and producer and the Mexican singer Carlos Rivera just before they paraded through the red carpet that would take them to the main hall where the evening took place.

“I am very excited to be here again. This is the fifth time we are with the Global Gift Gala, which is a platform with which we help many foundations, and I love being in Mexico because people are simply amazing and having a Mexican as co-host for the first time, the only Carlos Rivera, ”said the actress who rose to fame for her role in the series“ Desperate Housewives ”.

The Eva Longoria Foundation is an organization that aims to enable Latina women in the United States to reach their potential through business education and training. To do this, it supports programs that help Latinas obtain the best results in schools and improve access to university. Thanks to donations, the foundation has developed educational and entrepreneurship programs to improve the lives of Latin Americans and their families in the US.
