The Haifa Municipality on Monday referred to the storm of exclusion of Druze students from the city's educational institutions and said that an initial investigation carried out shows that many of them forged residential addresses to integrate uncontrollably into the municipal system as city residents. "Initial investigations have revealed quite a few written addresses, which indicate hundreds of other foreign students who have been able to integrate uncontrollably into the system." She also claimed that "tests conducted revealed that an average of 100 Haifa student placement applications were rejected each year, while Haifa received over 600 foreign students in public education, some of whom were also given the privilege of choosing schools."

The announcement was made by the parents of the children, claiming that the municipality was turning their children into "scapegoats." According to them, it is unclear from where the municipality brought the 600 students, when in its previous announcement it was talking about 23 students who forged their address. The parents argued that despite the allegations of counterfeiting, it is unclear to them what context they are raising. "It is a shame that instead of withdrawing from this reckless and insensitive decision, the mayor now decides to tarnish a whole witness with false accusations, all in order to cover the opacity, and again, mixing two unrelated issues."
