Past footballer Kobi Musa testified Monday in a lawsuit against Avner Harari and Avishai Ben David, who are accused, among other things, of trying to put a cargo under his vehicle three years ago. The testimony was given in a video call when Musa is in the United States.
In his testimony, Musa told of the events of that day and the fear of what would have happened had the cargo not been discovered before it was activated. "I started dressing for training when cops came in and took me to a police car, saying they had been given a cargo bag in my car," noting that he had left his car only a short time before.
"Following the incident, I thought a lot about what would happen if they didn't catch it on time. There were pressures, I couldn't sleep at night," Musa continued. As for a possible motive for dumping the cargo in his vehicle, the footballer said he did not know what could have been behind the act.
"I don't owe any money, and I'm not in conflict with anyone. I thought about a personal issue at first, but I don't know what the reason is. Police told me before they wanted to hurt me, but I was not told who. I also met with the same friend and he just told me 'Kobe be careful.' Even after three times, I didn't believe such a thing would happen, "he said.
Before Musa’s testimony, Harari spoke in the courtroom, attacking the prosecutor’s office and legal proceedings against him. "The prosecutor's office controls the state," he added, "the only evidence in this case is me. I have no reason to hide my face. Harari further added that in the previous trial against him, he came out entitled and said "I fully believe in their judges and their integrity".
