A group of salmon fishermen in Canada have noticed a strange sight on their return from a fishing trip - an octopus holding bald American eagle in the river water and trying to eat it. After long minutes of deliberation - whether to let the octopus kill the eagle, or rescue it - the fishermen decided to intervene in the event, and rescued the eagle from the hungry octopus arms.
"We saw an eagle immersed in water, with a giant octopus clutching it and trying to drown it," said John Illt - one of the fishermen.
After the fishermen decided to intervene, they approached the two and held the octopus with a hook attached to the stick. "We were able to catch the octopus and give it a slight boost," Illett continued, "he released his grip on the bird, and the eagle took the opportunity and fled to the beach.
"Am I to blame for being human and feeling compassion for the eagle?" Asked, adding, "At the end of the day, both the octopus and the eagle were not hurt and went on with their lives. I feel good about what I did."
