The cultivated areas of the barley crop exceeded Baal in Al-Hasakah Governorate for the current agricultural season planned to reach 365 thousand hectares, with an implementation rate of 119 percent.
The head of the Plant Production Department in the Agricultural Directorate, Eng. Jalal Bilal, told a SANA reporter that as a result of the weather conditions witnessed throughout the governorate during the past ten days and good rainfall rates, the implementation rates of growing wheat and barley crops in general by farmers increased, and the cultivated areas increased, especially barley, Baal Which exceeded what was planned and amounting to 333 thousand hectares, explaining that the area planted with irrigated barley amounted to 19 thousand and 200 hectares, with an implementation rate of 79 percent.
Bilal also pointed out that the area of wheat grown has reached 280 thousand hectares for Baal, with a 63 percent implementation, and irrigated 84 thousand and 100 hectares, with a 28 percent implementation, stressing that the cultivation of these two crops continues until the beginning of the new year, which will increase the implementation rates more.
It is noteworthy that the planned area of wheat and barley crops in Al-Hasakah Governorate for the current agricultural season exceeds one million hectares.
