Justice Minister Amir Ohana announced Tuesday (Tuesday) that he has elected Deputy Attorney General Orly Ben Ari Ginsberg as Deputy State Attorney.

The statement from the minister's office reads: "After several meetings, consultations and discussions I had with various parties, including: Civil Service Commissioner Prof. Daniel Hershkowitz and Attorney General Dr. Abihai Mandelblit, I made a decision.

I decided that Attorney Orly Ben-Ari Ginzberg, the Deputy Attorney General of the Central District, was to replace the outgoing State Attorney.

Orly has served for 28 years in the Prosecutor's Office in a number of positions. She has extensive experience in the criminal and security fields, graduates from the National Security College, holds a Master of Political Science (National Security) and Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Law. She has volunteered as head of the automobile at the National Bar for Disciplinary Advocacy, and for years served as head of the State Attorney's Security Forum.

The minister also added: "I have no doubt that Orly will work to preserve everything worth preserving, and contribute to strengthening public confidence in this so important system."
