NEWS appears to be the teacher striking, bumping, pushing and humiliating the student in an empty classroom in a destitute elementary school in the Negev. He was arrested immediately after the incident, and the next day he was indicted. His trial will open next week.
The indictment indicates that the teacher moved the student to a place due to a quarrel with another student. Following that, the student walked out of the classroom demonstratively. The teacher took the student to another class and beat him violently for a few minutes, holding the pole.

The Ministry of Education has condemned the violent incident. "The ministry condemns the conduct of the teaching staff and sees its behavior as crossing a red line," they said. "The teaching worker who trusts the students' education and well-being over his job blatantly. Due to the gravity of the act, he was immediately removed from office by the court, and suspended from civil service until the proceedings against him."
A senior official in charge of education in Arab society said: "In 2019, the State of Israel may not have teachers who continue to take up arms training and intimidate students. In any such case, we immediately pass on to superiors the discipline and do not compromise on strict punishment. "
