Trump's Letter to Pelosi: "They Openly Declare War on American Democracy"

The closer the official impeachment procedure to Donald Trump comes, the thinner he reacts. Now the US president wrote to the speaker of the US House of Representatives and accuses her of violating the constitution.

In a letter, US President Donald Trump made serious allegations against the top woman of the US Democrats, Nancy Pelosi, because of the impending impeachment proceedings. "By continuing your improper impeachment, you are violating your oath of office, breaking your allegiance to the constitution, and openly declaring war on American democracy," said Trump's six-page letter to the House spokeswoman, the White House released Tuesday. "It only has to do with your attempt to undo the 2016 election and steal the 2020 election!"

Trump criticized that he had been denied basic rights during the Democrats' preparations for impeachment, such as the opportunity to have witnesses heard in the House of Representatives. "The accused of the Salem witch trials were given a fair trial." In 1692, infamous trials had begun in Salem, Massachusetts, in which many people were accused of witchcraft. 19 innocent people were hanged. Trump repeatedly complains that he is the victim of a "witch hunt".

The president called the impeachment process sought by the Democrats "nothing more than an illegal, partisan attempted coup". Pelosi and her Democrats would be punished for this in the November election next year, referring to US voters. "They're not just after me, they're after the entire Republican Party. But because of this colossal injustice, our party is more united than ever." Trump added: "You see democracy as your enemy!"

Trump reversed the allegations against him. He accused the Democrats of abuse of power. According to the will of the Democrats, the president is to be held responsible for the abuse of power and the hindrance to the investigation by Congress, i.e. the US Parliament. Trump again vehemently denied the allegations in the letter to Pelosi.
