Six suspects were wearing orange prison clothes on the day. A local customs spokesman said that they were all arrested at the airport. Except for two Hong Kong men, the remaining four foreign nationals were Switzerland, Thailand, Singapore and Chile.
Authorities said that the two arrested Hong Kongers had 3.2 kilograms and 4 kilograms of methamphetamine in their luggage in early December and last week, respectively, and then attempted to bring them into Bali. Of the two arrested, one was only 19 years old, and customs said that drugs were found in the bags of pet food in the luggage.
