In order to save his life's work, Netanyahu must do what he has so far avoided • Like Trump, he must fight back for those who come to undo everything he built and the democratic system in which he acted

Since Benjamin Netanyahu entered the public consciousness as an Israeli ambassador to the United Nations nearly 40 years ago, he has been promoting a solid political, security and economic vision. The method of implementation that he has adopted over the years is opportunistic: when he has the opportunity to advance the components of his vision - as he had as finance minister in the Sharon government When he has no option, he acts in the form of attrition and waiting: giving up tactical concessions, usually temporary - as happened with the construction stop in Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem for 10 months - or declarative, such as Bar Ilan speech, while at the same time bypassing obstacles to train The ground for furthering his vision someday - as happened when he took advantage of the hostility of the Obama administration to Israel And both Sunni regimes, to weave relations of mutual trust with Arab leaders.

Today, thanks to the Trump administration, Netanyahu has the opportunity to implement his vision, especially with regard to the Palestinians, but not only. But his path contradicts another vision - that of retired Supreme Court President Aharon Barak to turn Israel from a democratic state into a post-democratic state of law.

Over the past few decades, along with Netanyahu's slow and consistent activities, some of the Supreme Court judges and prosecutors, with the help of media outlets, radical associations, and opportunistic politicians, have been gnawing on the powers of the people's elected representatives. And in fact, we were in a state of revolution versus revolution.

The public will decide the outcome of the Knesset elections on March 2: If Netanyahu succeeds in establishing a 61-member bloc, he will survive: the justice system will be ruled out, the Oslo agreement will be finally buried, and Israel's interests in Judea and Samaria will be secured. The nation will disappear for many years, and the Netanyahu revolution will be forgotten along with the vision of the people's sovereignty - and not just in Judea and Samaria.

The key: vision - and purpose

To understand how winners Netanyahu can look at what happened this week in the United Kingdom and the United States. Boris Johnson and his party won a tremendous victory in the British parliamentary election, with a victory that would allow the PM from Downing 10 to keep his promise to exclude Britain from the EU after his predecessor, Theresa May Failed to do so.

To achieve the required majority, Johnson did three things: First, upon assuming the post of prime minister in July this year, he informed the British that he intended to implement the "barkzit" while improving the exit agreement that May had achieved with Brussels - and so he did. Second, he tried to get Parliament's approval of the agreement, but as expected, failed. Finally, get ahead of the election and run on a simple platform: "Get it done".

Johnson set his goal - he achieved what he could, asked for a mandate from the public to complete the job, and accepted.

Netanyahu has a vision for the Palestinians. He introduced it to all the people in the previous election: the application of Israeli law in the Jordan Valley and Israeli settlement in Judea and Samaria. But then he hesitated, like Mae with the "barkzit." Now, he has to come back with the same vision as Johnson. The British brought a new agreement from Brussels, which Netanyahu must pass a government decision that actually implements Israeli law in these areas, abolishing the Civil Administration. Attorney General Avihai Mandelblit will surely call the decision "unreasonable", the media will cry, the associations will appeal to the High Court and the judges will issue an interim order.

Then Netanyahu will ask the public for a mandate to implement the vision - through a majority in the Knesset to implement a legal reform that will allow the people's elected representatives to implement the will of the people.

To undermine the opponents

And that brings us to America. This week, the Democratic majority in the House voted for the impeachment of Donald Trump, trampling on the U.S. Constitution, with no evidence of crimes committed by the president and in the face of evidence denying the allegations against him. Democrats have done so without public support and, according to polls, even among their party, impeachment support has dropped 13 percent since the proceeding opened last month. Also, they do so knowing that the Senate will repeal the act and Trump will remain in office.

Trump's impeachment is the expected result of Democrats' reaction to the 2016 election results and their takeover of last year's Congressional election. For the first time in U.S. history, the party that lost the White House has refused to come to terms with the election results, thereby nullifying the American public's right to elect its president. Democrats' reshuffling as a radical political force that comes to change the rules of the game has put Trump in charge this week.

But the politicians were not alone. The bureaucratic leadership also joined the Resistance (resistance) for the president. Last week, with the release of U.S. Attorney General Michael Horowitz's report, the Obama administration used the FBI and US intelligence chiefs to spy on Trump's 2016 campaign to help Hillary Clinton. The administration obtained search warrants from a secret state security court , Based on fabricated information brought to him and funded by the Clinton campaign. According to the report, the Democratic candidate's campaign paid foreign agents - including Russians - for the fabricated information. The illegal espionage operation served as a basis for appointing Robert Mueller to serve as a special prosecutor to investigate Trump's campaign relations with Russia.

In the first place, Trump dismissed the legitimacy of the proceedings against him. He understood that despite the legal cover, everything is political and the game is pre-sold. It also presented the events to the public, thus retaining its supporters and hurting the legitimacy of those trying to destroy it.

Netanyahu, so far, was not prepared to present the fight against him to Assuru. He did not clash seriously - neither with the Attorney General, nor with the Prosecutor's Office or with the High Court judges. On the contrary, until recently he defended them because he did not understand the political nature of their alleged legal acts.

In order to save his life's work, Netanyahu must do what he has so far avoided. Like Trump, he has to fight back for those who come to undo what he has built and the democratic system in which he has acted. He must talk about the political essence of the struggle of unelected officials and judges and their partners in the radical media and associations.

The fight is all over the jackpot. Mandelblit and his friends know that. Therefore, they have already given up their shame and are working forcefully to crush any attempt by the elected officials to take back the powers taken from them by the jurists. Netanyahu must understand this, as Trump understands it, and act accordingly.
