(CNN) - An unknown attacker opened fire next to the Federal Security Service (FSB) building in downtown Moscow, Russia, Russian state news agency RIA Novosti said, citing an FSB representative.
According to RIA Novosti, several people were injured as a result of the shooting and the author used an automatic weapon. Russian state television channel Rossiya 24 reported that the author has been "neutralized."
According to the Center for Traffic Management (DPC), traffic in the incident area has been blocked.
